High-efficiency POL achieves 60-A output

Digitally managed 2.4 x 0.55 x 1.1-in. device operates at over 92% efficiency

Providing the advantages of open-architecture digital power management to high-current data server, data storage, and communications applications, the 60-A maXyz ZY8160 is presented as the highest-current digital point-of-load (POL) module available. Operating at over 92% efficiency, the 2.4 x 0.55 x 1.1-in. device accepts from 8 to 14 Vdc and delivers from 0.5 to 2.75 Vdc with active current sharing and real-time monitoring of voltage, current, temperature, and protection status.

All parameters of the RoHS-compliant device are programmable on the fly via the I2C communication bus with an optional GUI and include output voltages, sequencing, tracking, and protection limits. The digital POL can operate autonomously in any system and does not require users to provide an I2C interface, host processor, or nonvolatile memory.
