Silicon tuner targets ATSC, NTSC apps

Source: | Publishing Date:2008-01-07

Suited for ATSC and NTSC applications, the MAX3540 single-conversion television tuner meets the sensitivity and adjacent-channel guidelines specified by ATSC recommended practice A/74, while consuming only 760 mW. The tuner integrates a tracking filter and high-linearity front end and requires only a single SAW filter.

The part covers the full 54 to 860-MHz frequency range, providing a standard 44-MHz IF output that is compatible with almost all existing ATSC and NTSC demodulators. Housed in a 48-pin flip-chip package, the device operates from a single 3.3-V supply and is fully specified over the 0° to 80°C temperature range.
