How does the sensor solve urban diseases?

Update:2021-09-02 Views:5575

With the continuous expansion of urban population, "urban disease" has become the primary problem that plagues the construction and management of various cities. Problems such as shortage of resources, environmental pollution, traffic congestion, and security risks have become increasingly prominent. In order to solve the "urban disease" dilemma, smart cities came into being.

Smart city comprehensively adopts a new generation of information technology including RF sensing technology, Internet of Things technology, cloud computing technology, and next-generation communication technology, which can make cities more susceptible to perception, and urban resources are more easily integrated and effective. Resolve the "urban disease" problem and achieve sustainable urban development.

As a bridge for the construction of smart cities, the smart city and the Internet of Things construction plan once again pushed the sensors to the “window” after the “13th Five-Year Plan” was released. It is predicted that in the next decade, the number of sensor terminals connected to smart cities worldwide will reach 40 billion. There is no doubt that smart cities will become another billion-dollar market for the sensor industry.

In order to strengthen the city's refined management, Shanghai will propose to deploy 500,000 sensors at the launch conference of the Jing'an District and the “Big Data and Urban Management Project” partner conference held in February 2018. Accelerate the construction of “urban brains”, break down data barriers, and realize timely and intelligent disposal of various problems and risks.

A number of sensors were installed on the above-ground and underground areas and on the manhole cover in the West District of Zhongguancun, Beijing, to provide a “neural system” for the construction of the “urban brain”. Among them, 230 underground and underground areas in the Zhongguancun West District of Beijing were installed with 230 toxic and harmful gas sensors for monitoring hydrogen sulfide, carbon monoxide, oxygen, methane, ethane and other gases; thermal, gas and water supply wells on the main roads in the central area of Zhongguancun 290 sensors for monitoring well displacement were installed under the pavement manhole on the equal shaft.

With the coming of the rainy season, in order to protect tree health and public safety, Hong Kong plans to use intelligent sensing technology to install 8000 sensors to monitor the stability of trees and prevent accidents from falling trees.

The use of sensors makes cities more susceptible to perception, enabling refined and intelligent management of the city, reducing resource consumption, reducing environmental pollution, eliminating safety hazards, and ultimately achieving sustainable urban development.

At present, there are 500 smart cities under construction in China. According to the plan, from 2016 to 2020, China will cultivate 100 new smart cities. As an important technical means to obtain information, sensors will play an important role in the construction of smart cities and the cracking of "urban diseases."

With the deepening of smart city construction, the sensor industry will usher in a larger market. Experts predict that the compound annual growth rate of China's sensor market will reach 30% in the next five years. It can be said that smart cities and Internet of Things will be important application markets for future sensors.

At present, the sensor industry is in a critical period of renewal, and sensors need products that are more micro, smarter, more networked, more systematic, and more functional. With the enhancement of domestic enterprises' independent innovation capability and the support of national policies, the development prospects of China's sensor industry will be great.
