Three ways to improve the overall performance of the sensor
The performance of the sensor is a criterion for evaluating its application to measurement. Therefore, manufacturers are looking for effective ways to improve the performance of the sensor. For improving the overall performance of the sensor output, you can refer to the following three methods:
1. Reasonable selection of structure, materials and parametersThere are many technical indicators that determine the performance of a sensor. It requires a sensor to have good performance indicators, which not only causes difficulties in design and manufacture, but is also unnecessary in practice. Therefore, based on actual needs and possibilities, on the basis of ensuring the realization of the main indicators, the requirements for secondary indicators should be relaxed to obtain a high performance-price ratio. When designing and manufacturing sensors, reasonable selection of their structure, materials and parameters is a prerequisite for ensuring a good performance-price ratio.
2, using linearization technology
The advantages of requiring a sensor with a linear output are:
1) Simplify theoretical analysis and actual calculation;
2) Facilitate calibration and data processing;
3) It is convenient for calibration, production, installation and commissioning, and can improve the accuracy level;
4) No non-linear compensation link is required.
As a result, distortion-free reproduction is guaranteed only when the sensor output has a linear relationship with the input. However, in fact, the linear characteristics of the sensor are difficult to obtain, and thus the linearization of the output/input characteristics is required by various methods to improve the line performance of the sensor.
3, using differential technology
In many cases, the nonlinear term of the system characteristic curve has only its secondary term, symmetrical to the coordinate origin, and there is an approximate linear segment within a certain range near the origin. The differential technique can be used so that the total output eliminates the zero-order output and the even-order nonlinear term, resulting in a fairly wide approximate linear range of symmetry and origin, thus reducing the nonlinearity and doubling the sensitivity. The common mode error is offset. Differential technology has been widely used in resistance strain, inductive, capacitive and other sensors.
Therefore, the performance of the sensor can be improved by the selection of sensor-sensitive materials and technical means, so that the product has long-term stability, high linearity and anti-interference.
