Go into ST and discuss the development trend of MEMS sensors
As one of the world's largest semiconductor companies, STMicroelectronics (hereinafter referred to as ST) is serving more than 100,000 customers, with revenues of US$9.66 billion in 2018, up 15.8% year-on-year.
In the high growth of revenue, ST's MEMS sensor division is also a booster.
During the Shanghai Electronics Show in Munich, ST took the opportunity to introduce the company's MEMS sensor division, key markets and new products to the industry media by Andrea Onetti, MEMS Sensor Products Manager, Vice President of Analog Devices' Analog, MEMS and Sensors Division.

How much does the STMicroelectronics MEMS sensor division know?
ST MEMS sensor division has nearly 400 employees, two dual-capacity fabs, with a capacity of 6 million pieces per day, and total sensor shipments of up to 15 billion. In addition, the MEMS sensor division has applied for 145 through a large investment. The patent has more than 150 products and software libraries.
At the same time, ST has more than 30,000 customers in the MEMS field, and has provided quality services to more than 30,000 customers in ST key markets such as consumer electronics, communications, computing, automotive and industrial. Its products have long penetrated into our daily lives. (For example, there is one ST MEMS sensor in every two mobile phones, and one ST MEMS sensor in every three car navigation devices, etc.)
"In the consumer electronics, automotive and industrial sectors, MEMS sensor convergence is accelerating," Onetti added.
Reviewing the development history of ST MEMS sensors, from the first 3-axis accelerometer in 2005, after the large-scale application of the iOS platform in 2018, the demand of the Android market in 2014, and now that the consumer electronics market is mature, it is welcoming Emerging technology trends such as power consumption, accuracy, 5G, IOT, and intelligence, and new challenges brought about by high performance requirements.
ST has always been committed to the vision of working with partners and providing the lowest power, highest precision sensor mission, welcoming challenges again and again.
