NXP Semiconductorshas disclosed that it will soon ship a single-chip solutionfor ultralow-cost phones to Samsung, according to a Reuters report.

NXP CEO Frans van Houten told Reuters during the IFA 2007 exhibition in Berlin, Germany that the first single-chip solution will start shipping in Q4 and that Samsung is a customer. The company acquired the single-chip solution technology through its purchase of Silicon Laboratories' Aero product linein March for $285 million.
