Holtek Semiconductor New HT48R0AA-1 Addition to Holtek Cost Effective I/O Type MCU Range

Forming a new addition to Holtek’s range of Cost Effective I/O type microcontrollers, the HT48R0AA-1 includes a 4K x 15 capacity OTP Program Memory, a 128 x 8 capacity Data Memory, 23 I/O lines, two internal 8-bit timers, a Low Voltage Reset and Low Voltage Detect function, a Programmable Frequency Divider and four level stack etc.
Supplied in 28-pin SKDIP, 28-pin SOP, 24-pin SKDIP and 24-pin SOP package forms, the devices are fully pin compatible with the HT48R07A-1 and HT48R09A-1 from the same range, allowing for easy upgrade. As the highest featured device in the Cost Effective I/O range, this new device with its excellent performance/price ratio, makes it suitable for use in a wide range of household electrical appliances, consumer products and other intelligent controller type products. Sample devices are available for customer evaluation as well as being available in production volumes.
As is the case with the other Holtek’s MCUs, the HT48R0AA-1 has a Holtek 8-bit microcontroller as its core, and can run with an operating frequency up to 8MHz. The I/O lines provided on the device can be used to interface to switches or used to drive LEDs or other type of display devices. The inclusion of a Programmable Frequency Divider function can be used to generate very precise frequencies such as audio frequencies. Other features include timer and interrupt functions, all of which add up to provide the designer with a range of software controlled functions.
As would be expected, Holtek provides a full suite of hardware and software development tools with its HT-IDE3000 development system. Included within its comprehensive features are real time hardware emulation, Data Memory and register read/write functions, logical hardware breakpoints and full trace analysis functions etc. This extensive and user friendly set of development tools provide designers with the means to ensure their product designs are developed and debugged as rapidly and efficiently as possible.
