Hisense ramps China's first LCD TV facility

TV manufacturer Hisense Electrical has formally begun the operations of China's first LCD production linefor color TVs, according to a report from ChinaTechNews.com.

The LCD production line has an annual capacity of 500,000 modules ranging from 15 to 42 inches. Hisense general manger Liu Hongxin disclosed to local media that the company plans to set up five other production lines with a total investment of $93.2 million by 2009 and achieve an annual capacity of 3 million TVs.
