AK5388 - New 120dB 4-channel audio ADC features short group delay with minimum phase digital filter New!
Asahi Kasei EMD Corporation today introduced the AK5388, a 24-bit high-performance 4-channel audio analog-to-digital converter (ADC) with a very short group delay minimum-phase digital filter. This device is the newest member of the Audio4pro family of digital audio data converters designed for use in demanding professional audio applications. The AK5388 is the industry’s highest performing 4-channel ADC, featuring 120dB dynamic range, with an available 123dB dynamic range when placed in stereo mode. A new digital filter architecture achieves a very short group delay of 12.6/fs over sampling frequencies from 8kHz to 216kHz while maintaining linear phase, making the AK5388 ideal for live sound applications. The audio data interface supports a TDM mode that allows for four channels at 192kHz or eight channels at 48kHz when using two devices.
The AK5388 has fully differential analog inputs and operates in master or slave mode. If the inputs clip, there is an overflow flag pin. The core operating voltage is 5V nominal, with a digital supply range of 3.0V to 3.6V.
The AK5388 was developed by using the high quality sound technology of the AK4397, 32-bit DAC that has a great reputation for high class audio equipments, and achieves high performance in not only the characteristics but also in sound quality.
The AK5388 is housed in a 44pin LQFP package. Evaluation boards and samples are available now. To obtain more information, contact Asahi Kasei EMD Corporation, Audio Business Operation, Nishi-Shinjuku 1-23-7, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-0023, Japan
