New SiGe and GaAs HBT Gain Blocks Feature 2 x 2 mm PCB Footprint
Chelmsford, MA 09/20/07 - Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, has introduced four new MMIC Gain Block Amplifiers which are ideal for Automotive, Broadband, CATV, Cellular/3G, WiMAX/4G and Fixed Wireless applications from DC to 8 GHz.
The HMC474SC70(E), HMC476SC70(E), HMC311SC70(E)and HMC478SC70(E)are a family of SiGe and GaAs Heterojunction Bipolar Transistor (HBT) Gain Block SMT MMIC amplifiers covering DC to 8 GHz. These cascadable amplifiers deliver up to 23 dB gain, +17 dBm output P1dB and +30 dBm output IP3, with noise figure as low as 2.5 dB. The Darlington topology used results in reduced sensitivity to normal process variations and excellent gain stability over temperature, while requiring a minimal number of external components. The HMC474SC70(E), HMC476SC70(E), HMC311SC70(E)and HMC478SC70(E)operate from a singe positive supply as low as +3V, and consume between 25 and 64 mA of current.
The HMC474SC70(E), HMC476SC70(E), HMC311SC70(E)and HMC478SC70(E)MMIC Gain Block amplifiers are ideal for use in IF, RF, and PA pre-driver applications in Automotive, CATV, Cellular/3G, WiBro, WiMAX, and Fixed Wireless systems. These versatile gain blocks require no external matching components and are housed in industry standard and RoHS compliant SC70 “E” SMT packages, which occupy a PCB footprint of only 2x2 mm.
Samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company’s e-commerce site or via direct purchase order. Released data sheets are available on-line at www.hittite.com.
