APPLICATION DESCRIPTION
Rotary Position Sensors can be purchased complete with mounting means, actuation means, and an integral connector, or they can be designed by the customer using first level Hall-Effect sensors.
First Level hall-effect sensors can be paired with ring or straight magnets, and the rotation of the magnet either toward or away from the sensing element will provide a ratiometric linear output. (The output of the linear Hall device is a function of magnetic field, not distance. Therefore, a head-on mode of operation will not provide a linear output voltage versus distance).
Non-contacting approaches to Rotary Position applications provide a long life solution which is excellent for use in harsh environments.
