Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. Announces New High Speed/Low Noise Hall-Effect Current SensorImproved accuracy over the full operating range
Worcester, MA – March 18, 2008 — Allegro® announces the next generation in Hall-effect current sensing technology. Allegro’s ACS756 is a low noise, open-loop current sensor with a 125 kHz bandwidth capability. The enhanced accuracy and speed make this device suitable for a variety of 50 A to 100 A applications. This new device takes advantage of the low loss leadframe of our “CA” package and the fast response capability of an integrated core.

Allegro’s new ACS756 also has an internal electrostatic shield. The electrostatic shield effectively shunts the effects of voltage transient spikes around the silicon and minimizes the voltage ripple on the output of the device. The result is a high performance current sensing solution suitable for motor and inverter control, power supply control and protection, and other applications requiring high side current sensing.
