SUNNYVALE, CA¡ªJuly 3, 2007¡ªMaxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) introduces the MAX13042E¨CMAX13045E* high-speed, 4-channel, bidirectional level translators with ¡À15kV ESD protection on I/O V_CC lines. These devices provide the level shifting necessary for high-speed data transfer in multivoltage systems by operating with V_L voltages from +1.62V to +3.2V and V_CC voltages from +2.2V to +3.6V. Over these operating-voltage ranges, the MAX13042E¨CMAX13045E provide a guaranteed data rate of 100Mbps with external push-pull or open-drain drivers that source as little as 4mA output current. Offering low-voltage operation and ESD protection in a tiny, 1.54mm x 2.12mm UCSP™, these bidirectional level translators are ideal for high-speed data transfer between low-voltage ASICs/PLDs and higher voltage systems.

The MAX13042E¨CMAX13045E increase design flexibility through their ability to operate at full speed with external drivers that source as low as 4mA output current. Their compatibility with both push-pull and open-drain drivers is enabled by a pass-gate architecture and by the integration of internal current sources that are capable of sourcing 30mA to pull up the I/O lines.

The bidirectional level translators are fully specified over the extended temperature range (-40¡ãC to +85¡ãC). They are available in tiny, 3mm x 3mm, 14-pin TDFN and 1.54mm x 2.12mm, 12-bump UCSP packages.
