The Barracuda 7200.11 and Barracuda ES.2 hard-disk drives deliver 1 Tbyte of capacity at 7,200-rpm spin speeds with an average seek time of 8.5 ms, The devices use just 8 W at idle, and the ES.2 model has a power reduction system that improves the Gbyte/W ratio by 55% over the prior generations.

The drives use perpendicular recording and a 3-Gbit/s SATA interface. The ES.2 model also features an MTBF of 1.2 M hours and an optional dual serial-attached-SCSI interface.
