Suited for Li-ion/polymer battery applications, the LTC3557 multifunction power management solution integrates a linear PowerPath manager, a standalone battery charger, an ideal diode, three high-efficiency synchronous buck regulators, and an always-on LDO. The device delivers up to 1.5-A charge current from a wall adapter supply or up to 500-mA charge current from a USB port.

The charger is compatible with inputs up to 5.5 V and draws less than 6 µA from the battery in suspend mode. Housed in a 28-pin QFN package, the part also features 95% efficiency and 2.25-MHz switching frequency.
