0603- and 0805-sized chip capacitors use less space in audio-filtering and signal-processing applications

The 298D MicroTan series of tantalum chip capacitors features an 0805-sized version rated to 220 µF at 4 V and an 0603-sized part rated from 1 µF at 25 V to 47 µF at 4 V¡ªboth presented as industry-best capacitances for their respective case sizes. Using patented multiarray packaging assembly technology, the parts require less PCB space and enable reduced product thickness for audio-filtering and signal-processing applications in mobile phones, digital cameras, and MP3 devices.

The tantalum capacitors feature rectangular molded case encapsulation that suits high-volume PCB assembly. The L-shaped facedown terminations improve contact to the solder pad over traditional facedown-style terminations.
