Responding to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) request for more information on its flash memory mergerwith STMicroelectronics (ST), Intel Corp. assured it will quickly provide the specifics demanded by the agency.

This is according to an Associated Press report, which stated that Intel Chair Craig Barrett said the company will send a "a very rapid response" to the FTC's second request for information and said he also expected "a rapid response back from FTC."

Intel and ST announced in May a flash memory joint ventureit named Numonyx, which will combine both companies' R&D, manufacturing and marketing assets.
