Supporting low-power DSPs and microcontroller-based portable electronics and extending battery life in Li-ion battery-powered applications, the TPS62290, TPS62260, and TPS62240, 2.25-MHz step-down dc/dc converters come in 2 x 2-mm SON packages. The 300-mA (TPS62240), 600-mA (TPS62260) and 1-A (TPS62290) synchronous, step-down dc/dc converters regulate output voltages down to 0.6 V, with ¡À1.5% accuracy.

The converter, which operates at 15-µA quiescent current, maintains efficiency up to 95% over the entire load current range. For low-noise applications, the device can be forced into fixed frequency PWM mode.
