With a conversion speed of 50 ksamples/s, the AS1538 uses less than 850-µA supply current (including the internal reference) and less than 1.5 µA in shutdown mode. The part offers 12-bit resolution on each of the eight input channels.

Housed in 16-pin TSSOP packages, the device features fully-differential or single-ended analog input modes and an I2C-compatible interface that supports interface speeds up to 3.4 MHz including industry-standard speeds of 100 and 400 kHz. The internal 2.5-V reference or an external reference in the 1 to 5.25-V range determines the full-scale analog input range.
