Holtek is pleased to announce the release of its new HT1632LED panel driver device. Containing an internal display RAM display memory, which individually support up 32 x 8 and 24 x 16 panel sizes and resolutions, the devices can also support larger scale panels using its cascade control function. Suitable applications are broad in nature but could include products such as motorised treadmills, electronic dartboards, perpetual calendars, message display equipment and digital clock etc. applications.

The device includes an internal display RAM, whose internal data is directly mapped to the display, a feature which greatly simplifies display programming. The communication interface is the same as that of the HT1622device, reducing the programming time needed for those users already familiar with the HT162x LCD series.

The HT1632has an operating voltage range of 2.4V~5.5V and comes supplied in a 52-pin QFP package. The device offers 16-level PWM illumination adjustment and includes a fully integrated 256K RC oscillator. Additionally its supports a serial MCU communication interface and supplies command and data instructions for MCU communication purposes. This offers users the benefits of easy control over their display applications and reduces the need for I/O port pins and external peripheral components and lines.
