The Courier-115 royalty-free wireless software protocol provides the basis for simple and fast infrared communication supporting data rates up to 115 kbits/s. The code is made for devices using Texas Instruments MSP430 microcontroller platform and the TFDU4300 IR transceiver ($0.65 each in high volume) or similar transceivers.

Applications include data loggers, personal biometers, and industrial metering. The software features small code size and RAM requirements, easing the adoption of unregulated infrared wireless communication.
