Card drives 4-lane PCI Express backplane

The VPXcel3-SBC320 3U VPX is said to be the first single-board computer with an Intel Core2 Duo processor and server-class memory controller. The card supports two 4-lane 2.5 GHz PCI Express ports across the backplane, up to 2 Gbytes of DDR2 SDRAM, and 128 Mbytes of flash.

The board uses a 1.7-GHz CPU and the Intel 3100 chipset. It provides connectivity via two USB 2.0 ports, two SATA 150 ports, two 10/100/1000Base-T GbE ports, two UART (RS-232) ports, and an XMC-compliant PMC site.

The card is available in five air- and conduction-cooled ruggedization levels. ($6,995 ¡ª available 3rd qtr.)
