Samsung: Fab unscathed despite unstable power
Samsung ElectronicsCo. Ltd. said all its semiconductor production lines were operating normally after a brief power problem at its main chip plant complex in Giheung, South Korea, according to a report from Reuters.
A spokesperson for the chip maker told the newswire, "There was no damage from a 36-second incident during which power was unstable. An automatic system immediately switched on and all lines are operating normally."
The voltage dropincident occurred around mid afternoon local time Thursday (Sept. 20).
Samsung's main chip manufacturing complex has been under scrutiny after it was hit by an extensive power outage last month.
