Hittite Microwave:MMIC VCO is highly integrated
The HMC632LP5(E) GaAs HBT MMIC VCO integrates resonators, negative resistance devices, and varactor diodes, and feature fundamental, RF/2, and divide-by-4 outputs. For added flexibility, the divide-by-4 prescaler function can be disabled to conserve current when not required.
The HMC632LP5(E) requires no external components, provides output power from 7 to 9 dBm, and delivers a SSB phase noise of -107 dBc/Hz at 100-kHz offset. The VCO accepts a tuning voltage from 1 to 13 V, and provides an output frequency from 14.25 to 15.65 GHz. The device is housed in a RoHS-compliant 5 x 5-mm package and consumes 350 mA typ from a single 5-V supply.
