Tiny motor drives linear and rotary motion
Offers 30-g thrust and 150-mm/s velocity from 13.5 x 7.6 x 3.15-mm package
Small enough to fit inside a dime, the 13.5 (L) x 7.6 (W) x 3.15 (H)-mm EDGE ceramic servomotor is presented as one of the smallest of its type. The 0.6-g motor drives both linear and rotary motion, providing 30 g of thrust and a maximum operating velocity of 150 mm/s for applications such as shutter/aperture control, pumps, and grippers in consumer, military/aerospace, medical, and industrial markets.
The servomotor features a capacitance of 9.5 nF/pole, offers resolutions to 1 µm, and consumes 750 mW and 130 mArms. The device operates at 8 Vrms and provides a 20,000-hour life under normal operating conditions. (Contact Ernie Ponce for pricing and availability.)
